2024.09.02 Landed a job!

So, after some time looking for a Java Tech Lead position in the Geneva area I finally got a match. It's going to be somewhat challenging (tight deadlines!) but fun as there are lots of things to put in place (The software is still mostly in COBOL and I'm the first Java guy in my department).

2023.08.31 Frist post!

This is version 0.0.0.20230831-183500 of this blog, and it's a the first article.
Nothing is done yet, it's just a static HTML page written by hand and saved to the apache directory of the front-end server. Yet, it's still better than nothing.

What works so far:

The domain name www.lecomte.ch resolves to the right IPv4 address
Apache is up, virtual hosts are enabled and the virtual host is properly defined
SSL works thanks to Let's Encrypt
The contents are served and the HTML is mostly ok

Next steps:

Save historical versions of this for the posterity
Start documenting the infra and the code
Add some CSS and try to make the page prettier
Use my own DNS server instead of relying on Gandi's
